Connell Valentine, whom I met through Quara, was a big help to me. I read some of his answers and followed the number zero to the website, where I learned a lot. I made my CV international, which helped me get a job in Nigeria with a multinational company, so I don’t need to know which country I work in.
It was really hard. I had a lot of interviews, but there were no follow-ups. Most of the time, I told them I wasn’t interested after the first interview.
This went on for about two months, but I stopped when I tried to get a job with a multinational company in Canada. I applied for a job in Calgary, but it had already been filled, so they asked if I would be interested in applying somewhere else. This is a short summary of what happened, but listening to Connell’s podcasts and reading his blogs really helped me. I received a job offer before resigning from my job in Nigeria. I didn’t work for less money or for less pay. You can do it. It’s hard, but it is possible. –
